Wear a Gown to Work Day is Only One Week Away
Wear a Gown to Work Day is only one week away. Unfortunately, no one seems to care this year. I haven’t been able to attract a celebrity spokesperson for the event (and believe me, I’ve scraped the bottom of the barrel). I’ve yet to see the special occasion mentioned in any other social media. Worst of all, no designers have called to offer me the opportunity to wear one of their gowns. Last year they were sending them by the truckload. I’m still ripping the old ones into rags to wash my car!
Anyway, I guess this chilly response to a holiday that celebrates glamour in unlikely places can only mean one thing: Glamour is dead. That’s right — dead!
You can sit at your computer all day long making nasty comments on online forums about what everyone else is wearing, but it means nothing if you can’t even bother to walk a mile in my Louboutins. Everyone’s a freakin’ critic, yet I don’t look outside to see a world full of fabulously-dressed individuals who inspire me with their stylishness. I see a bunch of ugly fat-asses in ill-fitted, dog hair-covered clothes whining about how everyone is judging them.
Boo hoo! As a wise man once said, “If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make the change — into an evening gown!” Have more meaningful words ever been spoken? I don’t think so!
