Sears to Introduce Attitude Menswear?

with 2 comments

Jay Manuel

A little bird told me that Sears Canada is about to launch Attitude menswear in its nearly 200 retail stores.  Now everyone who reads my blog already knows that Attitude is my favorite line of cheap clothing.  Even better, it’s sold in Sears stores instead of Walmarts or Superstores.  Call me old fashioned, but I don’t like shopping for clothes in the same place that hideous people with horribly-behaved children shop for groceries in flip-flops and pajama pants.  Ugh!

Anyway, I was extolling the virtues of Attitude long before Jay Manuel made his LG Toronto Fashion Week debut as the creative director for the label.  Having the orange and silver fox heading up the label only made me love it more.  I can’t wait to see the clothes when they arrive in stores this autumn.  Hearing that the line may be expanding into menswear makes me even more excited!

If this rumor is true, I hope that the clothes live up to my expectations.  If we’ve learned anything from Joseph Mimran and Peter Nygård, there’s no reason that Canadians can’t compete with the rest of the world on this playing field.

  1. That looks like one of Tyra’s “artistic” photos. They have groceries in Sears in Canada?

    • No, it’s just a regular department store, much like the one they visit in “The Brady Bunch Movie” with people singing and dancing on the escalators.
