Why did I come back?
Well, I’m back from Las Vegas and ready to blog again. It took me a couple of days to get around to writing this post because I was so sleep-deprived. I normally have a difficult time laying in bed in Vegas because it’s so exciting to be there, but by the second or third day I’m so tired that I just don’t get out of bed until I’m ready to get out of bed. That didn’t happen this trip. The sweet siren song of the slot machines kept calling me back to the casino floor.
Anyway, it was a lot of fun. I didn’t make it to the Crystals (at least not during operating hours, although I did stumble through the luxurious mall at about 2:00 AM one morning), but I did go to the Forum Shops and Via Bellagio. My Chinese astrologer, Mr. Wang, told me that I should carry a lucky red wallet and I found one at Bally. I also bought a T-shirt at the MGM Grand with a four-leaf clover logo. On my last trip I wore a Year of the Snake amulet as recommended by another astrologer. It seems as if I’m surrounding myself with lucky charms lately. I don’t really know if my luck has gotten much better as a result, but I can say that it hasn’t gotten any worse — I’d notice that!
Is it strange that I feel compelled to continue in this manner? I’ve already begun planning my next trip according to Feng Shui. My lucky direction is supposed to be south so I’ve decided to stay at Mandalay Bay again because it’s the most-southerly major resort on the Las Vegas Strip. The last time I stayed there I was in room #3333. I took that as a lucky sign, but it wasn’t lucky at all. Still, I wasn’t carrying a red wallet, a four-leaf clover, a lucky snake amulet or anything else that would have made fortune smile upon me. And what was I thinking with all those threes? Three has never been my lucky number! Eight is good, and eleven, too. Seventeen always brings me luck. I also like thirty-five and forty-four . . .
But I digress! I also meant to get to the Premium Outlets North, but I didn’t make it there. Next time I’ll make a point of going. It’s a nice place, with outlets that include Salvatore Ferragamo, Hugo Boss, Etro and Armani. I chose to visit the South outlets this time because I had never been to Saks Off Fifth, but the selection was a little lowbrow for a broad like me.
Oh well! I’ll get there again. In fact, I’ve already picked the dates. Now I just need to punch them into my astrology program to see if they’re lucky . . .
