I’ve got to admit that I laughed my head off when I saw that an atheist organization was putting “Saturnalia” billboards up in order to goad Christian organizations whose arrogance seems to peak this time of year.  It is a clever marketing tactic, but the more I think about it, the more offensive it is.

Wouldn’t it be nice if actual tolerance of spiritual beliefs came into style?  I mean the kind of tolerance that is two-sided and doesn’t result in people screaming that they’re being persecuted when they haven’t been so much as inconvenienced?  Wouldn’t it be nice if people just shrugged off an insensitive comment or a controversial opinion instead of making a big deal over everything?  I think it would.  So does Zob . . .
